From the time Mitchell R. Miller went on active army duty in May 1970 as an ROTC officer assigned to military intelligence along with his wife Phyllis Zimbler Miller (officially a Mrs. Lieutenant), Mitch and Phyllis have been following and writing about military personnel and the U.S. intelligence community.

Mitch is a member of the Association For Intelligence Officers, the National Military Intelligence Association, and on several U.S. intelligence email lists. He is a member of the U.S. Naval Institute, whose magazine PROCEEDINGS has provided numerous ideas for Mollie Sanders adventures. In 2007 Phyllis and Mitch attended a three-day unclassified Naval Institute briefing in San Diego.

Mitch and Phyllis are members of the Military Writers Society of America., and Phyllis is the co-host of the BlogTalkRadio show “Your Military Life”

Their screenplay LT. COMMANDER MOLLIE SANDERS was a quarter-finalist in the Academy’s Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting competition, and they then wrote the screenplay’s prequel — A NEEDLE IN A HAYSTACK.

Phyllis and Mitch have taken these two screenplays, added additional adventures in Iraq and in the Gulf of Aden, and developed this material into the first six issues of the graphic novel series LT. COMMANDER MOLLIE SANDERS.
